Every enquiry from the website’s contact and demo forms, and every call booked through the demo page, lands in Leads. The sidebar shows how many are still New.

The list

Filter by status (New, Contacted, Qualified, Closed) and search by name, email, firm or the page the enquiry came from. Each row shows what the person is enquiring as (planning ahead, an executor now, an estate lawyer, an adviser, a funeral director), the source page, and how many emails have been sent to them. A lead referred by a practice for Family Cleanup shows the practice under the source.

A lead

The page holds the enquiry as it was submitted, the message, and anything else the same email address has sent. Notes are yours: what was discussed, what they need, when to follow up. Status is set from the selector on the right; sending an email moves a new lead to Contacted on its own. Sign-up asks Clerk where the address stands: already has an account, on the waitlist (and whether an invitation is out), or neither. From here an operator can put the person on the waitlist and invite them in one click; the invitation is Clerk’s own, so the person gets Clerk’s email and creates their account through it. The full list is under Waitlist.

Sending an email

Send email opens a dialog with two ways in. Choose one of the email templates, or write a message of your own. Either way the preview on the right is rendered by the server exactly as it will be sent, with the lead’s own details filled in: their first name, their firm, the organisation’s name and addresses. A template that needs something the lead does not carry, such as the date a trial ends, shows an input for each missing placeholder and will not send until they are filled in. A message of your own may use the same placeholders, for example {{recipient.firstName}}, {{lead.organisation}}, {{org.name}} and {{app.url}}; blank lines become paragraphs. Every email is sent through the same path as case mail: recorded under Mail → Sent and in the lead’s own Emails sent list with its delivery status, and written to the audit log. Lifecycle templates that carry an unsubscribe link get a reply-to-support address in its place when sent one to one. Under the dry-run setting the email is composed and recorded but not sent, and the dialog says so. Only operators and admins can change a lead or send email; viewers and reviewers can read everything.
